Arnab Goswami’s father’s name is Retd. Col. Manoranjan Goswami. Arnab started his career as a journalist in 1995 with The Telegraph and within a year he moved on to NDTV. In 2006 he left NDTV and joined Times Now as editor-in-chief. After working for 10 years there, Arnab resigned from Times Now and started as editor-in-chief in Republic TV. Now he is a news presenter and debates on Republic TV ( English language channel) and Republic Bharat (Hindi News Channel) too.

As we all know that Arnab Goswami started his career in the early 1990s. But, before he started his own channel Republic Tv, he has worked in various news agencies & media.
- Arnab Goswami started his career as a journalist in the 1990s at The Telegraph in Kolkata.
- In the year 1995, he left The Telegraph and joined NDTV as a News Broadcaster.

1. Shashi Tharoor Defamation Case (2017)
On 26th May 2017, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor filed a defamation case against Republic TV and Arnab Goswami due to the connection of news items broadcasted by the channel with links in his wife Sunanda Pushkar’s death in 2014.
2. Remarks over Keralites (2018)
On 25 August 2018, according to a magazine, Arnab Goswami made a comment on Kerala people and called them “a most shameless bunch of people” but when the fact was checked, it was found that he did not say to the people of Kerela but the comment was made for the people who were from tukde tukde gang who were called as anti-nationals and paid agents.
3. News Broadcasting Standards Authority Castigate (2020)
NBSA India demanded Republic TV to apologize for the remarks which contained words like a bunch of people. With respect to this, Republic TV deleted the video from there YouTube channel and website but refused to apologize. Again next year the channel was again asked to apologize but they refused to do so.
4. Palghar Mob Lynching (2020)
Several FIRs were filed against Arnab Goswami regarding the use of inflammatory language and claiming misleading information.
5. Arnab Goswami & Uddhav Thackeray Trespassing Conflict (2020)
Two staff of Republic TV and a driver were arrested on 8th September 2020 for allegedly trespassing on a farmhouse of CM Uddhav Thackeray in the district of Raigad. This issue led to conflict between Arnab Goswami and the Govt. of Udhhav Thackeray. On 11th September, Arnab issued a statement demanding the release of the journalists and also alleged that Shiv Sena has threatened TV cable operators to stop showing Republic Media Network news channels.
6. Fake TRP Increase (2020)
In October 2020, a fake TRP scam was charged on Republic TV by BARC accusing the channel of misrepresentation of confidential communication, then Mumbai Police filed a complaint against the channel for high TRP ratings. But after investigation, no such scam was found and it was a fake scam against Republic TV. ( according to the confirmation from the email from BARC)
7. 2018 Suicide Case Abetment
On 4th November 2020, Arnab Goswami was arrested for a 2018 suicide case by Mumbai Police. Last year, the case was closed due to the lack of evidence. However, the BMC arrested Arnab Goswami early morning without giving him any notice. Also, the Court has criticized this action taken against him. Many news channels and journalists including Sudhir Chaudhary supported Arnab Goswami and called this action a violation of democratic pillar i.e. press.
